‘Octuplet mom’ is a disgrace

Move over, Apu. Nadya Suleman has supplanted you as the most notable parent of octuplets the nation has seen.

The Los Angeles woman/nutjob – already parent of six children – recently had in vitro fertilization so that she could give birth to eight more kids.

A woman like this – a single woman who’s set to raise 14 children ages 7 and younger alone – should have her tubes yanked out, and the doctors who green-lighted the fertilization should have their licenses revoked for the inadequate care the kids will receive (and inevitable therapy they’ll need).

What’s her punishment? Book deals and TV shows, according to an Associated Press report. Suleman’s spokeswoman (yes, she had to hire a rep) said Suleman is weighing her options, which allegedly are pouring in.

How disgusting.

This 33-year-old woman is an abomination to everything that’s good about parenthood. Her obsession with being a mom made her put her selfish need for pregnancy above the practicality of raising 14 kids. (Remember how challenging things were in the Brady house? Double that and add two.) How will they receive adequate attention and space, not to mention there being money for the necessities of life?

And what person would reward such irresponsibility by paying Suleman to recant her idiotic tales? The entire situation is disgraceful. Receiving scientific fertility treatment is not an occurence worthy of an entire book, TV show or even Bazooka Joe comic.

Lady, you represent everything that’s wrong with the disappointing, celebrity-obsessed portion of this nation’s population.

  1. ‘Octuplet mom’ is a disgrace for the society as well as the research team that risked her life for their fame.

  2. This woman belongs in a mental hospital and her “Dr. Mengele” doctors belong in jail-
as for the children? Where do they belong and with whom? The state of California is already teetering on the economic brink is now supporting this whack job woman and
the medical and all other for her litter of 14 children-who paid for all the other
fertility treatments, births, and care? There are hard working people who have
lost their jobs, homes and are struggling to hold body and soul together and this
totally irresponsible whack job woman is being touted by the press all over the world
as if she has done something note worthy -a sorry state of affairs for all concerned.

  3. Wow, I didn’t know people have the capacity to judge eachother so. A few thoughts, who is anyone to judge someone else’s capcity for love and if this was a natural conception would everyone still feel the same? I personally dont agree with the risk that all the babies were put through, nor do I agree that any Doctor should provide ivf to someone who has several children, but I would never be the one who dictates (or wants to) what is right for any other individual.
